The Department of
Aging & Human Services provides a wide variety of programs and
services to the county's senior residents, as well as other
segments of the population in need.
Our senior programs
include, but are not limited to home and community-based
services such as, home delivered and congregate meals; in-home
services; ombudsman services and caregiver support; information
and assistance; social and recreational programs; health
promotion; community outreach and volunteer opportunities. The
Human Services Division is responsible for the coordination of
supportive services to people with mental illness; substance
abuse treatment and prevention; supportive services to families
and children and the Teen Court program, to name a few.
The Aging and Disability Resource Center/Maryland Access Point (ADRC/MAP)
is your link to health and support services. The ADRC/MAP is a
free information and referral service. It is open to the public
and to individuals of all income levels. The St. Mary's County
Department of Aging & Human Services is working to provide older
adults, persons experiencing a disability and caregivers with a
single point of entry for services and information. We
encourage you to make the Department of Aging & Human Services
your first stop for information & resources. Whether you use of
our many services daily basis, or on a more occasional basis,
the St. Mary’s County Department of Aging & Human Services is
the go-to for all your family related needs, including the young
and young at heart.
