Medicare Over Breakfast

Can You Save Money on Medicare and Part D Drug Costs? Find out by attending a presentation at one of the following locations: July 28 - American Legion Hall 13390 Point Lookout Road, Ridge August 24 - 7th District Fire; Department, Avenue September 16 - Lexington Park Library, 21677 FDR Blvd., Lexington Park; October 4 - Northern Senior Activity Center 29655 Charlotte Hall Road, Charlotte Hall; To apply for these programs at the event bring verification of all income and assets such as Social Security, pensions, bank accounts, IRAs, CDs, 2009 income tax return, and any other applicable information. Northerns Open House

Northern Senior Activity Center ... This day is bound to be full of something for everyone including cards, bingo and yoga. Special presentations are courtesy of Robert Burke, Attorney at Law, who will speak and take Q&A about Estate Planning, and Debbie Barker, Senior I & A Manager for St. Mary’s County Department of Aging who will present information about Medicare. Reserve a chicken cordon bleu lunch with your reservation before noon on Thursday, September 9 by calling 301.475.4002, ext. 1001. The cost for lunch is a donation from seniors 60 and older; $5 for others. While walkins are welcome, we encourage signing up for presentations. Door prizes and a hospitality station will be available.

Loffler Open House

Join us Wednesday, September 22, 2010 for a "Down Home at the County Fair" themed Open House at the Interim center, located at the SAYSF Bible Church on Rue Purchase Road. Entertainment will be by local singer/songwriter David Norris, beginning at 11:30 AM. Lunch will be catered by Hardesty Haven Farms Catering, featuring Fresh Roast Beef - grilled on site, Potato Casserole, Seasoned Kale, Dinner Roll, Fresh Fruit Pizza and Down Home Fruit Punch! Cost: Donation for those age 60 and older; $5 for those under 60. Note: There will be a separate appreciation basket for donations for the entertainer. Fourth Annual Caregivers Breakfast

November is National Family Caregiver Month. The Annual Caregivers Breakfast and Educational morning is dedicated to Family Caregivers providing care in the St. Marys County Community.
