The State of Maryland provides a credit for the real property tax bill on the primary residence of homeowners (of all ages) who qualify on the basis of gross household income.  You can obtain an application form by calling the Treasurer’s Office at  301-475-4473, the State Department of Assessments and Taxation at 1-800-944-7403, or online at http://www.dat.state.md.us/sdatweb/taxcredits.html#htcrtc.

At the Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation website you can obtain online tax exemption applications for:

  • For Blind Persons

  • For Surviving Spouses of Blind Persons

  • For Churches, Parsonages, Convents, Education Buildings and Church Cemeteries

  • For Disabled Veterans

  • For Surviving Spouses of Disabled Veterans

  • For Surviving Spouse of a Military Casualty

  • For Governmentally Owned Property

  • For Fraternal, Benevolent, or Educational Property

  • For Charitable Property

or call the local SDAT office at (301) 880-2900 for additional information.
