The Department of Labor Licensing & Regulation’s Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing is responsible for licensing and regulating the activities of more than 175,000 individuals, corporations and partnerships. Twenty-three occupations and professions require licensing by the respective Board.

The Maryland Department of the Environment provides compliance and permitting assistance fro small businesses with air, waste and water permits. The department’s SBAP offers presentations to groups on environmental issues. SBAP also coordinates the department’s small business loan program from the upgrade or replacement of air pollution control equipment. Loans limited to companies with 25 or fewer employees.
