The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch which will remain in effect through Saturday night.  A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding in our area.  A low pressure system will bring periods of rain, heaviest will occur Friday night and Saturday.  Widespread rainfall will total between 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts. 

We may experience flooding of small creeks, streams and other problem areas throughout St. Mary's County due to already saturated grounds.  There may also be minor to moderate Coastal Flooding over the weekend in the Chesapeake Bay and Tidal Potomac River and a Small Craft Advisory is in effect on Saturday.
