REHABILITATION LOAN PROGRAMS

The Housing Authority of St. Mary’s County, Maryland programs include:

  • Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program Single Family (MHRP-SF)

  • Lead Hazard Reduction Grant and Loan Program (LHRGLP)-(state)

The Special Loan Programs (MHRP-SF, IPP, LHRGLP & STAR) are part of the Community Development Administration (CDA), an agency in the Division of Development Finance of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). These loan programs are available through the Housing Authority of St. Mary's County (HASMC).

These home repair loan programs help citizens who meet the program requirements, make necessary repairs to their homes such as: public sewer connections, replacement or installation of wells, septic systems, roofs, windows, doors, electric service, closing costs, and accessibility concerns. Loan funds are also available to property owners who rent to income eligible tenants.

Interest rates vary from 0-7% and monthly payments and terms vary based on income and affordability. Applicants must be credit worthy. There is no minimum income limit. Annual maximum income limits are based on the number of persons living in the household and range from $41,700 for a family of one (1) to $78,650 for a family of eight (8).
