The Housing Authority of St. Mary's County, Maryland constructs and/or manages a host of properties in St. Mary’s County. Some public use properties are slated as residential Community Centers, Head Start Centers (provided by the Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee -SMTCCAC), or Family Centers. Others, such as the Public Housing development of Patuxent Woods and those uncommitted units at Holland Forest Landing homeownership conversion community, are used to provide affordable housing options to residents of St. Mary’s County. The Housing Authority anticipates acquiring more homes to be used as rentals and affordable homeownership conversion options in the near future.
