The St. Mary's
County Department of Public Safety is a multi faceted agency that
provides 9-1-1 services through Emergency Communications, disaster
preparedness, response, mitigation and recovery through its Emergency
Management Division, and enforcement of animal regulations through the
Animal Control Division. The Department of Public Safety, through its
three divisions, works hand in hand with all county and state law
enforcement agencies, St. Mary’s County Volunteer Fire and EMS
department, as well as all Local, State and Federal Government
departments and agencies. The facility and personnel are second to none,
and ready to serve at a moments notice.

Mission Statement
The St. Mary’s
County Department of Public Safety consolidates everyday emergency
response with large scale disaster emergency response. Our mission is to
support the mission of Volunteer Communities in our County: Fire
Companies
Rescue Squads
Advanced Life Support
Emergency Service Committee
These volunteer communities perform priceless services to their
communities. In our endeavor to support their efforts Public Safety
provides support through administrative work, equipment purchasing,
policy, and communications. We will continue to express our appreciation
by supporting them in all their efforts. It is our goal to
constantly strive for excellence in the field of Public Safety through
Emergency Communications, Emergency Management, Homeland Security, and
Animal Control. We will move forward in this pursuit of perfection
through dedication, sincerity and education.
