Description of
Gymnastics Classes
Parents &
Tots I:
Age 1-3 (Walking) (45 minutes)
|
These programs
are specifically designed for children age’s 1 to 3 years of age.
The framework of this program is activity-and-child-centered. It is
based on the premise that all children learn best when engaged in
individual meaningful motor activities that involves action and
adventure. A team-based approach is essential as parents and
teachers focus on the individual child’s needs in a collaborative
effort. |
Parents & Tots II:
Ages 2 &
3 (45 minutes)

This program is
specifically designed for children age’s 2 & 3 years of age. The

Kindergym 1:
Must be age 3 or
4 and potty trained by the date of the first class (45 minutes)

MUST BE FULLY
POTTY TRAINED & INDEPENDENT (No Parent Participation in Class)
This program
focuses at the elementary stages of fundamental movement skills.
This stage of development children will have the opportunity to
enhance their coordinated and rhymithal performance gaining greater
control over the skills being taught. |
Kindergym 2:
Age 4 and completed Kindergym 1 (45 minutes)

MUST BE FULLY
POTTY TRAINED & INDEPENDENT (No Parent Participation in Class)
Children may be
signed up for Kindergym 2 if they will be 4 by date of the first
class. This program focuses at the elementary stages of fundamental

Fun & Fit Level 1:
Ages 5 &
6 (60 minutes)

Children may be
signed up for Level 1 if they will be 5 by the date of the first
class. This program is specially designed for the introduction of
basic fundamental skills of gymnastics on large apparatus (i.e.,
vault, bars, beam, floor, mini-tramp and trampoline). Skills are
taught in a developmental sequence so that students can develop
flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and self-confidence. |
Fun & Fit Level 1B:
Ages 7 &
up (60 minutes)

Children may be
signed up for Level 1B if they will be 7 by the date of the first
class. This program is specially designed for the introduction of
basic fundamental skills of gymnastics on large apparatus (i.e.,
vault, bars, beam, floor, mini-tramp and trampoline). Skills are
taught in a developmental sequence so that students can develop
flexibility, strength, balance, coordination and self-confidence. |
Fun & Fit Level 2:
BY COACHES EVALUATION ONLY;
Ages 7 & up (60
minutes)

Floor skills
taught in this class include: handstand forward roll, back bend
return to stand, back bend kick-over, cartwheel-left,
cartwheel-right, handstand, round-off, pullover, and cast. |
Fun & Fit Level 3-5:
BY COACHES EVALUATION ONLY
(90 minutes)

Skills taught in
this class include: squat vault on horse (low setting), squat on 3’
box with no hands, cast back hip, cast single leg shoot thru,
cartwheel, forward roll on beam, tick tock w/8” mat, and back bend
kickover. |
Progressive
Tumbling: BY COACHES EVALUATION ONLY;
Ages 10 & up (60 minutes)
|
Only tumbling
skills will be taught in this class. This class is designed for
participants who can successfully perform the basic handstand,
cartwheel, round-off, and bridge/back bend kick-over. The class goal
for each student is to improve and increase their flexibility,
strength, and coordination working towards more advanced tumbling
skills such as backhand springs and back tucks. |
Boys Program: 7 to 9
and 10 & older
(60 minutes)
|
The Boy’s
Gymnastics program is designed to educate participants of basic
men’s gymnastics. The curriculum is designed for boys age 7 through
high school. Participants will have the opportunity to work on
pommel horse, vault, rings, and floor exercise, rope climbing,
trampoline and bars. At the same time, they will be improving in
strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence. |
