June 1 - Ticket Sales Begin for Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival (July12)
Advance ticket sales begin today and can be purchased on line or by phone. Go to the event webpage for on line sales via Instant Seats: http://www.stmarysmd.com/recreate/2014PotomacFestival.asp Call the St. Clement's Island Museum at 301-769-2222 for phone sales. There is a small service charge for all tickets. The price is $65 for general public and $60 for Museum Members. Museum Members can purchase their tickets in May and not risk missing their ticket purchase with a quick sell out. Children 12 and under are free with paying adults.

Only 800 tickets available and sell out quickly. There are no refunds or exchanges. No rain date. Ticket purchasers unable to use their tickets may request a tax deductible donation letter.

June 7 & 8 - Weekend Water Taxi Service Begins
Weekend water taxi service to St. Clement's Island State Park from the St. Clement's Island Museum begins at 10 am with the last boat from the island to the mainland at 3:30 pm. There is a fee of $7 per person, for all ages, and includes admission fee to visit the museum. Inclement weather, high winds or tide may cancel operation. Please call 301-769-2222 before you come to confirm boat operation for that day.

Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes for the 1/2 mile walk to the picnic pavilion and reconstructed Blackistone Lighthouse. Also wear sun screen, and insect repellant and bring bottled water. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenic river view and playful waterfowl. And don't forget the camera!

July 4 - Independence Day Holiday Schedule

St. Clement's Island Museum: CLOSED

July 12 - St. Clement's Island Museum is CLOSED due to a special event.
Due to the annual fundraising event, the Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival, the museum will be closed to the general public. Only those who purchased advance tickets will be allowed. If you were planning to visit the museum and St. Clement's Island State Park this day we regret the inconvenience and suggest you visit our sister site, the Piney Point Lighthouse, Museum & Historic Park.

July 12 - Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival
The Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival is a major annual fundraiser for the benefit of museum programs, projects and exhibits. It takes place on the lawn of the St. Clement's Island Museum and includes live jazz artists and an amazing array of seafood and land lubber specialties. Gate opens at 12 pm. Free boat rides around St. Clement's Island State Park are available for the early arrivals from 12 noon to 3 pm. The artist line up is as follows: 3 pm - Oli Silk, 5 pm - Elan Trotman, and at 7 pm Nick Colionne!

July 26 - Pirate Day at Piney Point Lighthouse
Ahoy mateys! The Piney Point Lighthouse Museum will host a Pirate Day for children ages 4 to 9 years old. There are two age groups: 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 year olds and you can choose the morning or afternoon programs. All participants MUST PRE-REGISTER by calling the museum at 301-994-1471. There is a participation fee that must be paid to complete registration. First come, first served and slots fill quickly. Registration opens July 7.

Kids are encouraged to come dressed as pirates and join in the costume contest. There will be many fun and age-appropriate activities, treasure hunt and take-home souvenir. For more information, call the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum at 301-994-1471.
