and the Piney Point Lighthouse, Museum and Historic Park
in Piney Point. Both museums will be open seven days a
week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through September.
Piney Point Lighthouse -
Museum and Historic Keepers Quarters 1st Saturdays
join our tours on the 1st Saturday of each month and you
will be treated to a special viewing of the Keepers
Museum hours: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Adults-$7.00,
Seniors, Military w/ID, students-$3.50, Kids 5 and under

Water Taxi Service to St. Clement’s Island – Saturdays & Sundays, June through September
Take our water taxi to St. Clement's Island and explore every Saturday and Sunday, June through September! First trip leaves at 10:00 am with continuous trips to and from the island between 10:00 a.m to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. The last trip TO the island will leave at 2 pm and the last trip back to the mainland will leave at 3pm. The cost is $7.00 per person (no exceptions) and includes admission to the St. Clement's Island Museum. Call 301-769-2222 with questions.
Heritage Day on St. Clement’s Island State Park – Saturday, June 11
The Museum Division of St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks will offer St. Clement’s Island Heritage Day on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event invites everyone to visit the St. Clement’s Island Museum and enjoy free museum admission as well as free boat rides to St. Clement’s Island State Park for a day of history, fun activities, interesting exhibitor, and scenic waterside vistas. The last boat ride to the island will leave the museum pier at 2p.m. and the last boat back to the mainland from the island will be at 3 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the island. The reconstructed Blackistone Lighthouse will be open and available for tours. Wear comfortable walking shoes, sun screen, and bring the camera, binoculars and plenty of water.

Pirates on the Potomac – Saturday, July 23
Pre-Registration Required (Beginning July 5th)
The Piney Point Lighthouse Museum is looking for a few scurvy pirates and scalawags to participate in the annual Pirate Day on July 23th. This event is geared for little children ages 4 to 9 years old. There will be a morning session from 9 am to 12 noon and an afternoon session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Each session will have 12 slots for ages 4 - 6 and 12 slots for ages 7 - 9. The cost to pre-register is $10 per child. Registration opens July 6th. The Pirate Day program will include a host of pirate activities! Each child will receive a pirate name! Walk the Plank! Make and Take activities! Pirate tattoos and flags! And more! Kids are encouraged to dress as pirates for the Costume Contest! National Lighthouse Day and 180th Piney Point Anniversary – Sat. & Sun, August 6-7
Join us as we celebrate National Lighthouse Day Weekend! We will have local artists on site displaying their crafts for sale. On Sunday the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum will celebrate our 180th Anniversary of the constructing of the Lighthouse! Join us for cake at the Keepers Quarters! A special LEGO contest is in the works so check back for more information!

Children’s Day at the St’s Clement’s Island Museum – Saturday, August 20
The St. Clement’s Island Museum will have its annual Children’s Day event on Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be free balloons, face painting, games, crafts, activities, snow cones and goody bags. The first 200 kids will receive a reusable water bottle. Community heroes from the Seventh District Fire Department, Seventh District Rescue Squad and Med-Star Hospital will offer activities promoting health and safety. Hometown Karaoke & DJ Services will have everyone dancing to kid-friendly tunes. Community Partners from Chesapeake Biological Laboratory, Chalk Point, Aquaculture Center, and the Piney Point Aqua Culture Center will offer fun educational activities to help educate children about protecting the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Cindy Freeland, who has authored many children’s books will give a story book presentation about the animals that live in and near the Chesapeake Bay. The Seventh District Optimist Club will provide a .50 cent meal menu and a free bike raffle for children 12 and younger.
