Wicomico Shores Golf Course staff hosted the Eleventh Annual Thanksgiving Day charity golf event on Thursday, November 24, 2011.  Golf Course staff donated their time to open the course on Thanksgiving Day and waived greens and cart fees for golfers who contributed various non-perishable food and household items for charity.  This year, 108 golfer’s participated in the event and over 1700 items and about $800 in cash were donated.  All proceeds were provided to the Our Lady of the Wayside Church food bank in Chaptico, MD.  The food bank provides direct aid to individuals and families who face unexpected hardships and need temporary assistance with food and utility and rental/mortgage assistance.
