Purpose:
The Board of County
Commissioners is the governing body of St. Mary's County
and operates local government through its various
departments. The Board is "a body politic and
corporate" and performs duties and exercises powers in
accordance with Article 25 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland and with the Code of Public Local Laws as
enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland.
