Family
Violence Coordinating Council
Established by Resolution No. 2006-48
Purpose:
To advise the Board of County
Commissioners on the issue family violence in St. Mary’s County
Meetings:
Meetings are held the 4th Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., Room 14, Potomac
Building (former Governmental Center), 23115 Leonard Hall Drive,
Leonardtown, MD.
Composition: Membership
shall consist of a minimum of thirteen (13) members. Members shall
reflect, at a minimum, the following representation:

Legal Advocacy (Southern Maryland
Center for Family Advocacy)

Health Care Provider (St. Mary’s
Hospital, Inc.)

Law Enforcement (Office of the
Sheriff/Maryland State Police)

Crisis Intervention and Counseling
Services (Walden Sierra, Inc.)
-
Emergency Shelter Transitional
Housing (Three Oaks Center)
-
Domestic Violence Coordinator
(State’s Attorney’s Office)
-
St. Mary’s County Board of
Education
-
St. Mary’s County Department of
Social Services
-
Circuit and/or District Court for
St. Mary’s County
-
A survivor of Family Violence or a
family member
-
A Community Religious Leader
-
An advocate
-
A Community Representative
