St. Mary’s County Historical Society is open to the public for research. Photographic collection, genealogy, books and microfilm of local newspapers are available.

Tourism Department of St. Mary’s County Office of Economic and Community Development contains information about historic sites to visit in St. Mary’s County and lots more.

Historic St. Mary’s City is the site of Maryland’s first capital. Find out about tours, museum, events, special programs.
