Citizen Advisory Boards
The Commissioners of St. Mary’s County appoint citizens who volunteer to serve on local advisory boards that cover a variety of topics. The Human Services Division provides administrative guidance and technical support to the following citizen advisory boards:
Commission for Women (CFW)
Focuses on matters of particular interest to women like pay equity, domestic violence prevention, voting rights and children and family services. The CFW’s annual Women’s History Month Banquet has become a hallmark of the commission and is well-attended by the community.
Human Relations Commission (HRC)
Promotes diversity and equity within the St. Mary’s County community. The commission focuses on social justice and human rights issues.
